WIRE AND FORMS

Paolo da San Lorenzo is passionate about history, and has always been interested in the deeds of great men, particularly those of a great leader who in about 1200 CE was able to bring under his rule the vastest empire in the history of mankind: the empire of the Wolf, better known as Genghis Khan. This passion inspired works in which a dense network of brilliant paths emerges forcefully against luminous backgrounds. Flexes and forms interweave, pursue one another, and fade away only to become thick and dense with colour once more, in imaginary itineraries. This is how the artist aimed to broach in his own way this latest research, adding a final piece to the many pictorial cycles that he has painted in his long, fruitful career.
